Clones Not Growing
    #4596142 - 08/29/05 08:49 PM (11 years, 8 months ago)

I've had these tomato clones that have been rooted and removed from a humidity dome for about 2 weeks now. They haven't grown at all but have a visible taproot. The growing tips are yellowing a bit. I'm afraid they won't make it. I've been watering when the soil gets dry around the root(s). I watered tonight with a very weak 15-30-15 solution. Any advice?

Thanks Sheik.

The rusticas never made it past seedling stage this year. Had a very wet spring and I just don't think they liked my soil mix either. Had a bunch of N sylvestris (sp?) given to me, just grew it for looks, it was a good experience  Hopefully better luck with all my plants next year...this year was bleh--from tomatos, to watermelon, to tobacco.

i think its normal for clones not to show alot of growth at first.
i had a passiflora doclone just sitting there for about a month
but then it realy took off and now, another 2 months later its over 3 times as big as the seedlings i started a month before i got the clone...

i think it wont show growth untill it has created a sufficient amount of roots...

Easiest cloning method ever. 100% success rate. roots in as few as 3 days.
