For Anyone Interested in Modern-Day Gnosticism...
    #4590637 - 08/28/05 11:17 AM (18 years, 6 months ago)

http://www.gnosis.org/LAWeekly.htm

Only last night I recommended that a friend visiting from Los Angeles check out the 'Gnostica Ecclesia' but the church at Hollywood and Vine apparently burned down over a year ago. If 'The Matrix' trilogy excited anyone at this forum, one should be aware that it is thoroughly Gnostic, just as 'Star Wars' has been, in a Manichaen-Zoroastrian sense.

Take the Red Pill!

Good read, so far. Funny, my brother was just explaining gnosticism in detail the other day. Now that I know more about it, it seems to pop up everywhere. Just finished Philip K. Dick's Valis trilogy??lots of gnostic thought in there.

Some churches are theater and know it not.

Some churches are theater and know it.

Some members of the churches that know not that they are theater,
know that it is theater.

Some members of the churches that know that they are theater, know it not.

Here's to cracks in reality, optimistic Gnosticism, and absinthe, cheers.

And if I get a hold of one of those Archeons I'm going to take away his glue
gun.

that is fascinating, no, everytime i learn about something new it tends to pop up more often, even if i am not looking for it, it is almost as if it is looking for me...

Yes, that's what this is all about. A common language always marks the next step however.

Yeah.  I'll watch the matrix to learn about how to connect with my higher self.

BOBO!

The Matrix is the ultimate pop culture gnostic metaphor.

And they really failed in story-telling in the 2nd and 3rd installments. There's a difference between recounting the lineages of Abraham's children and telling an engaging story that might approach a "parable."

The sequals aren't the substance of the Matrix. Really though, they should have never made additional movies. They milked a good thing.

So...money invades the purity of the gnostic's tale?

Is that gnosticism?   :smirk:

Perhaps after you connect, you'll understand the Gnostic theme.
