its this show on the discovery channel. the host goes around joining native tribes. its a really good show, you see some crazy shit. anyway, the preview this week says he has to eat a "psychedelic root" to gain acceptance. he trips for 24 hours i guess, he looks WASTED in the preview. all these shaman are dancing around him. it looks like he is in africa, so i doubt this "root" is ayahuasca. im thinking its ibogaine.

In one episode he inverts his penis for a second b/c the males invert theirs and then realizes that he has found a limit to that lifestyle that he wont partake in

As soon as I saw the commercials I figured it was Ibogaine too. It pissed me off though because they say something like "when he comes out of it he'll be part of the tribe, if he doesn't die". I highly doubt that shamans with centuries of knowledge of the psychadelic would give some journalist a dose that could be deadly. It is just an ad but I would expect a little more intelligence, and less misinformation, from the discovery channel.

I really want to see this too. I can just imagine the trip he has seeing all the dancing done by the light of a fire seeing all the crazy masks and people decorated in paint hearing the beating of the drums and shouts from the tribesmen. knowing you're in the middle of the jungle with some tribe of people

What kind of trip can you have off of ibogaine?
I've watched this show since it started. Nothing like getting really stoned and watching a journalist fumble his way through tribal cultures.
I respect this show, but sometimes I wonder about it. Like if everything they say is happening to the journalist was just "set up" like that or if it is really happening. (I've grown to distrust "reality" tV)

read this :
"Is Ibogaine an addiction breaking drug? I think a better discription of Ibogaine is a habit breaking drug. I was not a heroin addict. But I was an extremely habitual person, and had a highly addictive personality. My life before Ibogaine was in shambles. I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes per day, drank beer every day, and hadn't exercised in years, always had to have some kind of high, ecstasy, valium, or grass...and I was ALWAYS broke. I was extremely neurotic, as I had an extremely abusive childhood.
After Ibogaine, I was kinda scatterbrained for a few days, but it seemed that I had this amazing evolutionary push behind me to fight entropy. I feel reborn, as if my character has been wiped clean, and I am able to write anything in as my attributes, and immediately make them who I am. It has been 4 weeks, and I haven't even thought about touching a drink, drug or cigarette. I exercise for an hour every day. I'm not spending much money, except going out and buying some new clothes. I now eat healthy food, drink water or juice, write in my journal every day, keep my house clean, and read spiritual material at least two hours every day. I get up early, and go to bed early, and I am rejoining the church that I got kicked out of. This seems all kind of unbelievable, but I swear it is true...and I'm not exaggerating. My friends are all amazed. The week after Ibogaine, I decided I was going to build good habits to replace my lost bad habits. And it was relatively easy, where good habits were incredibly hard for me in the past. These changes, I feel were mostly because Ibogaine gave me self-respect, and because it took away my fear. I feel Ibogaine is a miracle, and anyone wanting sincere change and spiritual growth in their lives should experience it. "

Ibogaine is alot different then LSD. It's very powerful and very physical. There's really no other drug in the world like it. The body load is incredable. It's one of those drugs that a single encounter can change you and every cell in your body.
I bought 7 grams of it(dose is .75-1.25) in Holland a year ago. I have tested it on myself and a few friends. When I get the time i'm going to write a summary of the experiance and it's unique effects.
It's not the knid of drug you do repeatidly. I'll never do it agian. Thats not becuase I don't consider it a very valuable drug. It's just one of those things were once, twice perhaps three times is more then enough for this lifetime. I have one dose left I plan on giving to a herion addict(and no i'm not needing any volunteers ). peace
