A pretty good salvage, and with sprouts!

Well..this casing was done about 10 days ago, along with two others. The one I am picturing was a substrate of coir/verm/cow poo that I pasteurized on the stove and spawned with 1 qt of colonized white millet. When it was time to case I used a coir/verm mixture that was nuked in the microwave....I have now learned my lesson as far as microwaving sterilizes, and does not pasteurize....so, you can imagine what followed, lots of cobweb mold. The other two were done strictly with the microwaved stuff, and turned out to be a lost cause, but the stuff with the poo pulled through after a dousing with 3% peroxide, and this is what it looks like today!

I think the sprouts came from undigested grass seed from the cow poo, they are a bit decorative I think : )

unless you increase the light they get, they'll just die off after a couple weeks
I think it's amazing that some seeds survive 200F+ temps
