straw boosting

ok im just not into making compost or collecting cow pies. I still want a comprable substrate.

straw is easy enough, but i understand its a bit lacking in nutrients.

there must be an easy way to boost it, something like bloodmeal or plant store bat guano added at the time of pasterization.

someone must have a method.

i mix it with worm castings, available at most good grow shops, but any good dung will also work.

A foaf pasturizes the straw in 160 degree water for an hour and does worm castings w/ a little spring water in a foil bread pan covered w/foil in oven at 160 for an hour. After they are cool they are mixed together in a large plastic mixing bowl, usually 1/3 worm poo to 2/3 straw then add and mix finely crumbled cake bits. The mixing bowl makes about the right amount to make a foil cakepan full or large loaf pan to put in tanks.

Sorry never did plain straw in researching all the different ways my foaf went with only the ways that got the highest reviews from the shroomery. Straw and wormcastings and staw and horse poo, are the 2 we liked best and both have worked well.
