Boiling question
    #458621 - 11/14/01 09:07 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

This question isent for myself but if it can be done it might benifit others , so heres the idea . Whats peoples thoughts on puting jars in the dish washer on the dry cycle a few times in a row ? The dry cycle produces a very hot steam same concept as the boiling water , except withought the flame that can do some damage or need for a large kettle. The dish washer produces alot more steam since its steaming a larger area , it also seems to produce alot more heat. Just over all better steam which I could be wrong but is what's most needed in the boiling tech . Just an idea , any thought's could it work ? anyone every tried it ..

The jars probably wouldn't be exposed to the heat long enough to sterilize all of the substrate. Just boil for an hour--it would take about that long to run the jars through the dishwasher a few times anyway. You'll waste less water that way too.
