Well, my project has been going like nothing I had planned. First of all two jars were contaminated with a powdery green mold. Next, I birthed two, from what I can tell, prematurely. Just two days ago however it seems I'm getting an abundance of pins from the base of vermiculite. The soft healthy tissue is only around the base and dots the cake; certainly not any contamination. Now, the next two I have saved, one I birthed the other day when I noticed my small mushrooms. The other seems to be doing the best of all. It has been a month now since I inoculated these birdseed jars. Soon I'll be birthing the last one. But whats interesting is when I added a heatpad for better incubating temp. and then birthed the others. I had to set the other two jars up on a shelf without a pad. They've shown a lot more growth than the earlier ones. Next setup I'm definitely going to invest in a mycodome. Wish I could get a picture of my ridiculous makeshift setup. But hey, its working.

before you invest in a microdome give this incubateing tek a shot alot of people here love it.

"The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer-- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer."
