If you can find a good strain they grow the same as Agaricus bitorquis. Look up the parameters for that species and you are good to go. I've cloned wild ones for years and I've finally found one that responds well to cultivation. Most wild strains grow poorly on not at all.

The photos below show my isolate fruiting in a test jar of wild birdseed (mostly white millet) cased with peat and calcium carbonate. The jar was left in the kitchen at room temperature covered loosely with a plastic grocery bag to retain humidity and was misted daily. No contamination problems and it is now on the second flush. Mushroom development is slow but steady. New tests on compost are scheduled.

These days i want to start my Agaricus augustus coltivation.

the day before yesterday i've made my spores solution into sterile syringe. I've seen a lot of pics and i want to start my coltivation with a mix of barley and bran in jars (with vermiculite on the top).

What do you think about it? Barley is soaking actually. i don't know how many parts of barley and how many parts of bran i should mix. suggestions?
