saving strain - help!

hi folks! need some help! i have a contaminating cake (re of unique isolate from local wild PCs, it is contaminating from innoculation points and its kinda dunk in water... there are many colors... purple, black and gray but mycelium is still in superiority... i'd like to clone it again, what should be the least contaminated point in the cake for me to take samples???

prolly makes litte difference, just get a few threads of mycellia as far away from any contams as possible for transfer to peroxidated agar. then you'll have to grow it out, and prolly re-transfer a few times onto new agar plates until you get a clean one.
