I got some nice exotic seeds, and I'm planning on planting some. Here is what I have..
Petunia Violacea
Nicotania Tobacum
Rivea Corymbosa
Leonitus Leonorus
Mimosa Hostilis
Coffee Arabica
Desmanthus Illinoensis
Datura Stramonium
Peganum Harmala
Nymphaea Caerulea
Do any of you know much about these plants, or are growing any? I live in Florida, I'm hoping they do well.
Anyway this is good for me I think, because I think I'm going to major in botany, something I've always loved. I'm also very interested in Mycology, and I have a few spore syringes of edible mushroom cultures.

i grow all except petunia and nymphea. there all pretty easy.
tobacco depletes soil like crasy, so u need to fertilise your soil after each harvest.
rivea seems to be tricky to get to flower: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/3307972/page//fpart/1/vc/1
the peganum harmala is a tricky one: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/4169757/an/0/page/1
Coffee is a bitch for me, im having alot of trouble getting them to germinate.
D. stramoium seems to be the favorite snack of the local snail population... mine was munched up almost entirely...

Vertigo, I have been having the same problem with germinating the coffee. I got one to germ but the tail quickly turned brown and rotted away...they are a bitch.
And I think the problem most people have with the Peganum is too little sun....these guys like alot and because of that cannot really be grown indoors. You said you live in florida? Try throwing some of these in a sunny, dry location outside...I`ll be suprised if you dont have success, dont give up too quick they take some time to germinate.
Nymphea are easy....germinate in a jar full of water after nicking them. After they poop a tail, fill an aquarium with clayous, rocky soil and fill with water, plant them in there and again put in a sunny location...they are very easy to grow. Also if you have a pond near your house you could just say fuck the auarium and throw em in there after germination.
I have been having rotten luck trying to get SPs petunia to germinate...I think that is just the nature of the plant though and no fault on the store (best ethno vendor on the net). Havent seen any sprouts of them yet.
D.I. should be nicked before planting. I pour boiling water over D.I. seeds and let them sit overnight before planting. They like alot of sun. Again put in a pot outside and just let them go. Water when the soil dries out...they dont like to be dry. Make sure you keep them in a pot outside, I hear they are very invasive in some parts of the country.
Rivea need to be nicked. They dont like alot of sun when they are young and will take in a good amount of water, otherwise they should be treated like morning glories.
Mimosa should be treated the same as the D.I. minus the boiling water approach.
Datura and Tabbaco I cant help you with as slugs completely destroyed mine.
If you have any questions let me know.
And by the way Vertigo, I love your site .

By the way.... What is "nicking"? Should I take a knife and slice them a bit?

I've had great luck with SP's petunia seeds, got a good germination rate. Maybe took 2 weeks to pop. Very pretty little flowers, not much in the way of vegetative growth, though. Also I successfully germinated Mimosa Hostilis with the boiling water soak overnight method, no problems. "nicking" can be accomplished with a knife or even sandpaper. Just remove some of outer coating so the inner is showing.
