What kind of shrooms are in my area?
    #458081 - 11/14/01 02:09 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Hi guys

I live in the easteren Iowa, and every year I see lots of different mushrooms in the woods all the time. I hunt morels (sp?) every year, and do quite good sometimes (once we brought back 23 bread bags full), and I normaly walk passed 3 times that many "toad-stools" that I have no idea what they are. I know a few people that find "magic mushrooms", and they seem to be good. Not grate, but they get you high all the same.

Any way, I would like to know what kind of "active" mushrooms I could find aroun my area? What would be a good reference book, so I don't go, and eat something shouldn't?

Peace:Iforget

Maybe Panaeolus Subbalteatus, or Ps. Silimentica(sp?) aka liberty caps.

Peace out,
-Gumby
