agar storage

Should agar plates be incubated like innoculated jars? If not how should they be stored....also do they need to be kept in a sterile environment or can they be left out in the open?

They can be incubated in the same way, and can be stored in the open, but I'd recommend wrapping the edges in parafilm or saran wrap (cut 1.5" slice from a full roll), and then storing 3-4 plates in a ziplock bag for extra protection.
