I took this picture this am of one of my cakes.
Sorry about the low light conditions. Im trying to get a hand at my new Canon SD500
If you look dead in the center of the pic you can see what Im talking about.
Is this good? The color may seem a little off, but I think it looks like the first signs of pinning.
Im more worried about contams, then "the man" lol.

It does look like you have something going on there. I also see some knotting around the edges. You should se something happening soon.
Just have patience, and keep it good and wet. Starting to look a little dry.

Yeah as for the dryness, its wet in the terraium.
Ive got a crappy humidity gauge in there and it never reads above 80.
I mist 2-3 times a day because of this. The cakes look a little dry. I dunked and rolled my BRF Cake.
Ive got perlite on the bottom and that looks way wet. D
Should I get one of those bubblers things? I was reading into them this morning, and didnt know if I could introduce it now (i would have to build a bigger better terrarium)

sure, no prob. I use Digital Image Pro for editing pix.
Is there condensation forming on the walls of the terranium? This is what you want when growing cakes out, because it means you have a high humidity in there. (95-99) Keep lightly spraying a few times a day to get the humidity up. If you are not using a bubble wand, you want to be sure to fan as often as possible to get fresh air in there.
Using a bubble wand worked good for me. Fanning isn't really needed if you have it set up right. I rarely even needed to spray.
You need to get an air pump too if you use a bubble wand.

theres (imo) tons of condensation on the walls. It feels humid and looks humid. Ive read a lot that the cheap humidity gauges dont work well. But it stays a constant 78-82 Humid.
Can I transfer my setup into a better one? Maybe next time I will build a better one. This is my first time so I am just beginning to learn all the how to's.
But man inside the terrarium smells like the freshest fresh mushroom in the world. It smells so good!

you can as long as the new one is as sterile, or even more so, than the current one. But I wouldn't worry about it if you can keep plenty of condensation on the walls and it feels very humid.
Chances are your gauge is not reading right. I had a cheap one that also read real low like that. Never got over 90% Got a better one, and it went straight up to 95% and stayed. I didn't change anything in the chamber either.
Just Keep misting. Let us know how it looks in a few days. I bet you start seeing some pins with little red hats on em soon.

Make sure your perlite isn't saturated with water or your RH levels will go down. Water at half the depth of the perlite. Remember plenty of fanning 10-20 second durations 4-5 or more times a day with misting after each and every fanning. GL
