I'll give the same advice that's given when people get in trouble with
airplanes and cars: If you don't know what to do, let go of the
controls. Things will level out and you can work from there.

Naturally, this advice is better for flying airplanes because there's
more room to maneuver, but i'm sure you get my point. Go with the
flow and you'll find yourself straight and level again, even if pointed in
a different direction.
