quick question
    #4573856 - 08/24/05 04:57 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

first off.. i've tried my best to do my reading.. but this is something that is probably learned through experience.. but waiting on the mail and all i've been pondering it..

i was reading the sea of shrooms casing tek, and it says that if you take the casings out of the solo cups they produce more by being able to grow from all sides of the casing..

but how do you take the casing out of the cup without damaging it?

ive heard if you touch your mycelium that part won't pin and nothing will grow?

are you supposed to like pour it out of the cups without it falling apart? or can you handle it easily with your hands?

should i fruit the first flush in the cups and then take the casings out for the second flush? does the casing hold together well?

also is it necessary to use a screen or can i set the casings directly onto the perlite?

i'm going to be using brf pf tek with p.e. and eq. also going to possibly attempt in some of the jars a water/coffee and water/coconut water mixture.. any suggestions or comments?

just realized he did this casing method with wbs, will it still be a good tek to use with pf brf cakes?

When you take the cake out of a jar, it slides right out as a solid piece. The mycelium hold it together so you should have no problem sliding it out of the cups. Also, with the WBS jars, you sometimes have to stick a knife or fork in to help break up the chunks and it still grows fine.
