good p. cubensis strain for beginer
    #4571899 - 08/23/05 05:59 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

sorry if this has been asked a hundred times already, but i searched and was unable to find anything helpful. does anyone have any opinion on what would be a good strain of p. cubensis to try for a first time grower?

I've had good luck with john allen from spores 101, they are highly resistant contaminants. But they were somewhat lacking in potency, from my experience.

PE can be a hard strain to grow... id say the best beginner strain would be Koh Samui or Koh Samui Super Strain because of the extremely contam resistant, fast colonizing, and a prolific fruiter.

Other good strains for beginners...

Ecuador
Cambodian
South American
John Allen

Happy Trails and GL to ya

B+ and PESA were my first syringes as a complete beginner and I haven't changed it up since then other than getting Aussies just for the novelty (for my friend from England) and I bought a syringe of PRs after I got a badass wild sporeprint and had some fun fruits.

I want PE myself, it doesnt print well so that will be out the window, printing is good practise for a beginner. Of course you could clone it with a LC.

The easiest, most foolproof grow for beginners is sclerotia. But if you are into the hobby to see growth patterns and novelty then sclerotia is pretty boring (except for the ingestion bit )

cubensis mmm, old reliables GT, B+, Eq

I'm a newbie and have several sets of jars started already. Just from my limited experience, I've got a set of Tresure Coast that are all going quite nicely on BRF/Verm and have ripped through some WBS. Some Golden Teachers which seem to be fairly slow colonizers, and some Mex. Albino that are moderate. Of the three, at this point i would reccomend the TC, but I havnt gotten to fruiting yet.

tressure coast has a longer fruiting period than most which makes it great for invitro grows but i hear there's a lot of aborts.

You want to look for a strain which colonises quickly (beats the contaminations to it), fruits well, and had good temperature resistance. Supposedly the best for the newb are all cubensis mexican/ B+/ PF Classic
