garden gone dumb?
    #4571456 - 08/23/05 05:49 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

hi shroomerites!
it's been a while that i don't post anything but i still lurk around the boards. there's a reason why i don't post very much anymore - all i see are redundant questions, brought by new generations of shroomerites, questions which the answers could be found in the garden's FAQ or easily findable through the SEARCH feature.
my point with this post is to try to bring the garden back to it's golden ages, when the discussions had a more profound dimension than nowadays.

i will give myself the freedom to welcome everyone who is new here but at the same time i shall politely ask you just to read the FAQ, SEARCH for old posts (the archive that's been built through the years is a wonderful resource), if you still can't find it there's www.erowid.org, and there's finally www.google.com for a wider search...
thanks everybody!

FH

Iv asked alot of dumb questions in my time so I dont mind the nebies too much. It would be nice to have some group research going on like we used to. I dont know much of whats going on with the Coleus Reasearch that Alkaloidaholic(sp?)(He had a few names) was interested in? He was also preaty interested in shanin (Petunia violacea). That was preaty interesting stuff, What ever happened to that guy?

in all honesty, the archive is realy just a collection of forum threads and it can be a bitch trying to find the particular bit of info amoung the vast amounts of semi-related info...

it is all there though, and with a little reformatting it could be made into the most bitching growguide in history.
it shouldent be to hard to do either if it is a community project.
everybody picks a plant and spends a few weeks searching all relevant info and pasting it to a single document.
after that its just a matter of editing...

the acrhives, edited would be wonderful! but searching old archives isn't so painful, come on...

we were the noobs. the difference is that we would spend some effort before making a post. indeed it is a community sure it's very pleasant to help noobs, my complaint is about the predominant shallowness of the forum, which used to be much richer in content a few years ago.
it feels like the ODD spirit is hanging around...
but there still are good posts and i'm sure other 'bearded' members are still lurking around...
