I've heard +R's are less compatible than -R's.  Try it in a different player, maybe it will take.

If not, check the bottoms of the discs.  Burnable discs use a dye instead of pits to record, so the dye can go bad sometimes.  Make sure the bottoms are clean, without any purple blobs.  If they're all bad on the bottom, you could probably write a letter to Sony and get a shitload of free discs

Try updating your firmware drivers too, that might help (yeah, probably not, but c'mon )

Nero has a problem writing to some disks.
Try Alcohol 120 to do the burning, I found it much more reliable, and I always use +R's, usually Maxell, but Sony's as well.

Hope this helps.

a lot of burners tend to like some brands, and hate others, mine
hates verbatium, and -R, the number 1 rated brand is Taiyo-Yuden,
I use those and the cheap shit from frys, as long as its +R.

Not directly. I don't think.
I rip with decryptor, Re-author with Shrink (save as an ISO) Then burn it with Alcohol 120.
A little extensive, but it always works on DVDs that otherwise would give me trouble.
Only had a problen once, and that was from a very dirty DVD (5 year olds peanut butter fingers, that I didn't notice)

Either the player or the burner doesnt like the disks.

Use different ones. Try the burns in a different player try the blanks in a different burner.

Use the approved DVD+r's that the company suggests...If you can't find a website that lists the apporved DVD+R's then call them and ask. They should tell you...Every company that makes DVD+r media uses different burnable dye and as different temps for buring...

Iv'e had this happen before, I used to write DVD's all day long when I was working as a videographer...Some brands wouldn't even fucking write properly it would just fuck up the whole disk. Then some would write and have the skips like you say. You have to find one brand and stick with it...

When they make these drives they test which DVD-r's work the best. If it's not approved by them, then it usually means the company has had problems when doing the consumer testing...

Also you might try to lower the burn speed to a lower setting...Higher rates tend to screw it up every now and then during the burn process...
