Normally, I was forced to read boring books in my AP English class. But, those books I really did enjoy.

Especially, 1984. The ending with the rat cage on his head, sent shivers through my spine.

Even though I've only started it, Naked Lunch is pretty cool. Haven't finished 1984 either.

i've read all of them with the exception of 1984. those books really are quite something. the first time i read brave new world i would always accompany it with the music of pink floyd the wall. it was awesome! Both works complimented each other so well, the synergy was flawless.

There's a badass song by Dead Prez about Animal Farm, it's called Animal In Man.

Clive Barker rocks the fucking house, as far as horrific shit goes.

I hope to start with animal farm soon, loved 1984, but even more Brave new world... fucking great book, so deep and futuristic! BTW, I still don't see the concept of utopia that my teachers seemed to enjoy so much about 1984... looks like simple totalitarism with population control to me, not an utopic world
Anyone read "The island" by Huxley? Is it any good?

The great thing about now reading (actually listening to audio books on my 40 minute drive to work) is that I've seen the movie 1984 but reading it is way better. I'm 5 minutes into the movie but the book explains the thoughts and feelings of Winston I'm like 1 hr into the audio.
