Abhort picking
    #456816 - 11/13/01 08:45 AM (23 years, 1 month ago)

How do you spot abhorts? Are there any tell-tale sighns to look out for? are they a different colour to 'non-abhorts'? How big do they get?

(oh. and a completely different question: My terarrium has quite small spaces where air can come in/out, this is where the handles are conected to the main body of the box. Now, i was wondering whether it's ok (in terms of humidity and air exchange) just to leave the holes or do i really need to cover them up? (it will be very difficult to do so, but possible))

When the caps turn black, or when they stop growing.
No, you don't need to make it absolutely airtight.

Yes. As long as they have not started to rot.
You can tell when you pick them. If they are firm then there ok, but if they get mushy, then you should be wary.
