first casing try
    #456801 - 11/13/01 08:31 AM (22 years, 30 days ago)

My grandma's, cousin's, best friend's, uncle's, brother-in-law's, stepson just tried his first casing from some post first flush PF cakes. He crumbled the cakes, and cased with verm on top and bottom. They are doing GREAT, except that some of the 'shrooms are deformed. Lots of fat siamese twins, and some with tiny or non- existant caps. Is this normal for second flush?

Genetic anomolies are normal for these hybrids we cultivate.

Hey,
From what I've read, the more deformed they are the more potent the are. My neighbor's pet chinchila made his first casing lastnight. He's growing Amazonian PES strain. They grew very fast, the jars were colonized in 9.5 days. He used a bottom layer of sterilized Perlite with a little Peroxide/water mix, then sliced three cakes longways at 1/2" to 1" thickness then crumbled a little substate around to fill in gaps. They are currently recouperating in the incubator for 24 hours before he puts the casing layer on. How long did it take you too see pinheads on your casing? Good luck with yours.

Purr,

Catzeye

Thanks for the speedy replies. In answer to your question, Catz, it took approximately 9 days from casing to pinning. From there, they grew like crazy! 4 days and some fruits are already in my trusty "no heat" dehydrator! Going to have a "dazed" Thanksgiving with my deformed 'lil friends...
As always,
Psili
