Well..two attempts made..and it appears i am facing my second complete failure.
My first was with the homestead kit that took 3 months to yield 3 mushrooms with a dry weight of 3.0 grams.
My second attempt was with the pans...by this time, i felt it would be smooth sailing..purchased a rubbermaid container and some very nice composted horse manure...after my jars colonized very quickly i mixed it up into the compost..and that too grew very, very quickly...then i began to notice as i misted.... it must have just become to moist..and the mycellium began to look opposite of fluffy..it looked as if it had turned to stone...i tried with all my might to dry the container out by fanning it several times a day..its not bone dry, but its not too moist now either. its been at least two months. nothing is coming up ...and i have failed again.

Maybe you should have done waht everyone recommends, START WITH THE PF TEK!
Its when you get the hang fo that you can move on.

There is nothing worse than failing. Oh yeah! QUITTING!!!
Don't give up. Sounds to me you almost had a success story.
First of all you bought a kit. Which barely requires any work. Then you go off and try a strain which is too advanced for a novice. Meet in the middle and try the pf tek/mmgg. If you want to cultivate these teks are nescesary to learn.

you didnt induce pinning stratagies in time and the result is overlay....really bad overlay...but yeah...pftek...you gotta crawl before you walk you know?

I THINK YOU SHOULD TRY REMOVING THE TOP LAYER OF THE CASING DONT LET IT DRY OUT THIS TIME KEEP MISTING AND FANNING UNTIL YOU SEE PINS AND THEN JUST FAN
