I have been innocculating quarts of rye with liquid cultures time and time again for a month or 2 and having them all contaminate before they were colonised even though I have been as sterile as could be!
I have recently just increased my PC time to 90 minutes, and the first batch of 10 jars that i innocculated with spore solution have all started colonising withing 3 day! I wasn't even getting that quick of growth when using LC's! I am guessing that any contams that survived the PC were fighting with the myceleum to survive and was causing the slow growth rates until they finally succombed to the contam(s)
Something so simple has made such a difference!

Yeah I usually PC mine on a long time just because I forget I have it going.

I always do a 90 minute cycle in the PC, the only contms I get are from other mistakes I may make
