Im setting up my fruiting chamber and was unsure of Perlite. A lot of teks say to use it but then some say its not a big deal if you just keep it humid.
Is the perlite mainly just to cut down the amount i have to manually humidify it? Let me know guys, I would like to get this going today!

You pretty much answered your own question. It depends on how much misting you feel like doing. Perlite is a great source of humidity though...

Perlite humidification eliminates extreme RH fluctuations in other words it helps tremendously at stabilizing your RH. Even with misting especially with cakes your RH will drop significantly, casings are another thing as they do create a slight RH increase but even they will suffer if RH levels are not kept optimum. Yes you'll want perlite and water/h2o2 at half the depth of the perlite. This just gives you control over the environment cheap! GL

Much cheaper than buying some other forms of humidification conditioning, IMO.

Its pretty cheap as well. A bag from walmart cost me like $3.00 and it was plently for what I needed.

If you are doing cakes, you should get some, it's cheap and will keep your humidity up. Casings may not require it to keep the humidity in an acceptable range. I would use it for either one, though.
