You Aren't Objective
    #4563611 - 08/21/05 05:25 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

The concept of an "Objective Reality" is something logicians and left-brains have been jerking off to for centuries.
I don't need to read Rand or whoever the flavor of the week is to know that Objectivity is something that can't be easily perceived by the human mind.
Everything we experience is coloured by our own biased slant of perception.
What's true for me may not be true for you, or vice versa.
Even seemingly stable and unchanging laws are but chalk on the blackboard..
Theories and interpretations of Reality are constantly changing... not to confuse the map with the territory, however.
There IS an "Objective Reality", but it will never be harnassed by the human mind.
All we can ever hope to do is interpret and theorize, contemplate and wonder.  :mushroom2:
We large-brained monkeys may fancy that we Know It All, when in fact we are but infants of the Cosmos.
In short, the complexity of the Universe has, is, and always will be beyond our comprehension.

You sound like you got it all figured out. You should become a Buddhist.
