    #4563755 - 08/21/05 05:59 PM (18 years, 1 month ago)

As a newbie, i've been doing real well... have a fw cakes pinning, a caseing is staring to pin( lost my first casing to green mold).
Heres the deal, i made a LC from one of my BRF cakes, and inoculated 5 pt jars of WBS. They took off like mad... i had 30% colinization in 3 days, anyhow i shook the jars two days ago, they were 60% or so.
now they looked like thry stalled.... could they need more moisture they look rather dry.
and if so how do i give it to them?
heres a pic of wjhat im working with

after you shake the jars, you are breaking up all the myc. and that shocks them, they will take a lil while to recover and be off again... be patient!! looks good so far

as for restoring moisture, i put some perlite at the bottom of my incubator once to help my dry BRF cakes.

If they take a little longer to come back, water content was probably off (looks a little dry IMO)..that doesnt mean they're dead though..they look ok..after 4-5 days if theres no fuzzy growth all over, then start worrying (though it doesnt mean they're dead yet).

i had some WBS that i knocked up with a LC stall after i shook them... i pretty much gave up on them and left them in my incubator... when i came back 2 weeks later. bam they were done. just wait, they'll probably turn out ok.

thats pretty much where im at now everything that i have attempted to colinize has done so and is in prosses of fruiting or casing or something or another so my incubator is bout empty except for the 5 stalled jars of WBS. I'll leave them there untill i try my new Lipa Yai print that i just got this past weekend
