Humidifier Question

I've got a small basic cool mist humidifier and was wondering if i made two outputs on it to support two terrariums, will there be enough distribution to not need a timer? Those things are about $30 for a decent one and I've already spent WWAAYY too much on this as it is. I am using two rubbermaid containers, I guess about 10 or 11 gallons.

Depends on what kinda of humidifier.. the Vicks cool mist humidifiers are great. If thats the kinda you have or Kaz then it should work find for two rubbermaid containers that size.. i have a cool moisture humidifier (a little weak) and it humidifies a 30gal and 20gal. I have to mist a tiny bit everyonce in a while though. If you stick your hand in there and it feels nice and humid then you should be fine.

I'm a dumbass, it's a 30 gal. I forgot there was a sticker on the side... I'm actually running it right now on one to see how it works and I've had it running for 10 minutes and the humidity hasn't raised 1 %. I'm using a sunbeam cool mist humidifier with 7/16" ID vinyl tubing running straight from the humidifier into the rubbermaid. I've put a bunch of duct tape on the rim of the bucket itself to help seal better and I've even got some heavy stuff on top of it to seal even better, but I can't get the humidity up. I don't know what's wrong.

yeah sometimes humidifiers take along time to get a good humidity in there. But then other times they just dont cut it.. I'm planning on getting rid of the humidifier i have now and finding a Vicks cool mist or Kaz cool mist.. they're the best.. go to the grow/find section of this website and look under humidity teks for the humidifier tek.. it points out the humidifier im talking about.

Yeah I don't think this one is going to cut it, I put the humidifier in the bin and it only got up to about 50% after about 20 minutes! I think I may end up going with perlite and just using this to pump in a little fresh air and have a very very small fan at the bottom to rid the CO2. This is really irritating...

Dude, patience is a virtue... Let your humidifer run for about 6 hours and your humidity should reach about 95%. You are using it for 60 total gallons. It takes time!

Do you have weather stripping around the top edge? If not, try it. Some of those Rubbermaid containers don't seal for shit. Especially the big ones.

No weathrstripping, but gobs of duct tape along the rim. Yeah, I'm gonna have to change something, most likely the tubing. I left it running all night and it went from 31% to 33%. The tube blows out air, but its dry.
