Casing still iffy, but cakes kicking ass

This is my first grow. i'd like to personally thank everyone on this board. I've had countless questions on the IRC and on the boar over the last couple of months, you've really helped this be a success, which i think it is. My casing still isn't pinning, but look at these freggen cakes man!!! the two lighter ones are B+ and the darker on in the bottoom right is Pink Buffalo. They were colonized in PF jars, dunked, and rolled.
which brings me to another question, how should i dunk these after i pick them, which will obviously be now since their veils are perfect for picking. thanks!!!

The green straw is to help with moisture, but you can dunk and it would work good also.

yes the green straw is called a well. you dig it halfway into the cake, take out the verm that you dug into, and put it back in and fill it with water to the level of the cake. then the cake drinks watr from the inside out. it's great. i actually did that and dunked. good stuff...they need their water!

yes i dunked them right after colonization just before putting them into the FC. it helps rehydrate them after the exhaustion of colonization. and thanks backupwards The pink buffalo are starting to be ready for picking now, it's really cool how the veil actually sty connected to the cap on that strain. looks kind of evil haha.

So you can dunk and the well to? The water won't be to much? It helps with yield? Also the straw wont contaminate the cake?

no i sterilized the straw beforehand, and by the time the cakes fully colonized it's a little better at fighting things off. yes you can do both. my cakes are over hydrated a little but the only side effect i've seen is a little fuzzy mycelial growth at the base of the shrooms. it's helped with yeilds like crazy.
