Problem Growing Mushrooms

OK, here's my problem
I want to grow some shrooms as it is now illegal to buy them fresh or to buy psilocybe-grow kits in the UK. my only option is to pick them wild as Iam no way near experienced enough to start cultivating my own, and I'm not overly optimistic about finding much this coming autumn.
I could by a ready made grow kit such as the one at No linking to offsite vendors please and them inject it with a spore syringe. However last time I tried using a grow kit my disapproving parents found out by way of the lamp shining through the cracks in my cupboard. The only places I can think of to hide them where the light would be totally concealed are places where I can't fit my portable heater into, so I was wondering if there are any magic mushies that either don't need light to grow or don't need temp/humidity.
As liberty caps grow in a northern climate and are potent would these be the best bet? Or how about truffles which I believe don't need light. I would prefer mushies to truffles as I've heard that truffles have a low yield compared to shrooms and aren't as visual or as potent which is what Iam after. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!!!

haha i don't think i know what he's trying to say either ^.^
my suggestion, do you have a closet? you don't need much light for shroomies, grow em in jars like the rest of us, birth them into an opaque (non-seethrough) terrarium, put the terrarium in your closet. if you can get your hands on some blue light then put it in the terrarium with the cakes, the terrarium wouldn't be see-through so no light would escape your closet...

welcome to the shroomery..
you need to work on your patience first off... then start reading everything you can and become educated in all aspects of what you would like to do... either growing, hunting, or even stealth growing...
so your problem is that you are too impatient... if you take some time to read and learn, you'll find that you can produce the results just as anyone else here at the shroomery.
peace and good luck

Thanks PsychosMind,
I have read the PF-Tek and it just seems awfully complicated to me. I sure it would be easy with experience but I would prefer to use pre-made kits for the first few attempts. I guess I could buy an opaque plastic box and place the kit inside with the light.
Could someone recommend where to buy a good blue light, bearing in mind that it will be only just above the grow kit in the box, so nothing too powerfull.

Just use indirect sunlight to trigger pinning, I also suggest using a old species like PF Classics or Stropharia for a invitro grow ck out this PF Classic mycellium growth

Indirect sunlight means exposure, which means visibility.

if you live with your rents dont disprespect them by growing shrooms without their knowledge. I know UK law is different from US law, but im sure if the cops found out you were growing shrooms in your folks house they'd get in trouble too. Plus why bother with all the bullshit associated with hiding it and low yields and crappy looking shrooms from an invitro grow.
My advice spend the time living with your rents reading and researching, and then when you finally do move out, you will have all the knowledge you need to prouduce great flushes and potent shams. Worked for me.

i really am glad you came back to us instead of taking the other path. *hug*

Hmm I'm sorry, I have to agree with him. I tend to get people in trouble by telling them to go around their parent's backs, we don't want you in trouble. Growing without permission in your parent's house can be bad times...

Excellent advice. This will also save you a lot of headaches and money. Because from what I have read, those kits have a high failure rate, and they are not cheap compared to buying everything you need on your own.
As you are researching, don't get discouraged by seeing all of the money people spend on the equipment. It really can really be started for very cheap.
Just have patience man.
Good Luck
