he is ok. the true test of a bassist is how he plays with others. i can do alot of tapping and thumping, but it is very rare that i find it usefull in a song or groove environment.

I think hes pretty good. Realistically however, I think it is more just showy material as someone else said, and not necessarily as impressive at it appears to be. I thought the best part was when he stopped doing the two handed thing and actually started picking. He is pretty fast and funky.

Is Jaco near the beginning playing the whole thing on his bass, or is the guitar also playing there, I would assume theres a guitar involved there, unless the man is totally ridiculous. And in fact I am pretty sure thats a guitar.

Shroomism, have you heard the album 'Extraction' with Victor Wooten on bass, Greg Howe on guitar and Dennis Chambers on drums? I think it's probably the best thing Victor has ever been involved with.

Jeff Berlin and Alain Caron are both bassists with the most 'Rediculous skills' I have ever encountered

I still can't get over how awesome this guy is.
I'm learning the bass now and I'm watching him closely. I'd love to have those skills.
