I need a timer...
    #4554611 - 08/19/05 06:21 AM (18 years, 7 months ago)

What type of timer do you guys use for your ultrasonic humidifier and lights? I checked on ebay and found a pretty good one but it's for a UK style electricity outlet.

I did some reading and I need a 6/12 light cycle for pinning then 12/6 for fruiting. For the ultrasonic cycle I will need it on for 15 mins every 2 hours or somewhere around that ballpark. So, what timer will suite my needs? A product type and model would be helpful.

-Thanks

i have an 'ingraham' timer model number 12-821. got it at walmart for like 10 bucks. timex makes a similar model for around the same price. this is perfect for any kind of hour increment settings you need. makes your fruting and light cycles go by effortlessly.

as for your ultrasonic cycle, you'll need a digital one that you can program more precisely. something like this one i found on ebay is perfect.

good luck

Thanks for the reply :-) I'll have to wait on the digital one but now I know I need about an 8 on/off cycle a day timer.

for an ultra sonic it's a bad idea to run it 8 on/off, you could end up saturating your stuff

Ya I know. I wasn't planning on having it 8 on/off cycle. I just most likely need a lot of leway to figure out what is a good cycle to use for an ultrasonic.

Make sure the timer you get is going to work properly with fluorescent lights if that's what your using for lighting. Some timers will cause fluorescent lights to prematurely burn out. Check the manufactures website before making a purchase.
