    #4557032 - 08/20/05 12:24 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

hey maybe someone can help me, i think i might have found cubes since they kinda look like the pic (the one on a post about cubes finding) but i guess i wanna do some clarifyin first before i go into the mulch and chow... the ones i found were like i said growing in the mulch.. they had like a grayish-blue almost color on top fading to tan with a brown spot on the top.. the gills were all black and they def had a different kinda odor to them, kinda.. idk sweet?... if anyone can help me id appreciate it.. they were also found in ohio if that helps.. i was unable to take a spore print and also i noticed that they turned very slimmy after 1 day in a plastic baggy.. thanks guys

first of all don't put shrooms in plastic baggies. second of all they are not cubes simply because the word ohio is mentioned in your post. if you're looking to trip, whatever you found is not active. it may be edible, but i doubt it. ok byes

sounds kinda like stropharia riparia, but it could be a crudload of different mushrooms. as yum states cubes dont grow in mulch or in ohio. please research more on this site, and on mushroom johns site, and learn about mushrooms that may be growing in your state. search the shroomery for "mapping the mycelial network" to find which mushroom grow in ohio.

www.mushroomjohn.com
www.google.com

theres some helpful links. get studying before you eat something poisonous and regret it.

and next time you ask for an ID, refer to the sticky thread in this forum stated "PLEASE READ, ID TIPS" so you properly give us the information needed to provide you with a safe and sound journey.
