multiple fans on flow hoods

Are multiple fans on flow hoods equal to the sum of each? In other words if your filter size calls for 500 cfm @ X" sp, would two 250 cfm (@ X" sp) fans be equal to one 500 cfm fan?

I would assume it wouldn't matter, but there are often technical details that can be easily overlooked. Anybody know?

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

Yes you can, but the total electricity usage and heat produced will be more than with one 500cfm.

What size filter are you using? 500cfm would be for a 24" X 24" or larger flowhood. You only want about a 100 feet per minute air speed leaving your flowhood, so for a 12" X 24" flowhood, you'd have a 2 square feet surface area, so a 250cfm fan would give you 125 feet per minute of linear air flow. That would be more than enough.
