pictures from a recent hunt
    #4554664 - 08/19/05 09:23 AM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Okay, I tipped a few (as usual) so I hope this all makes sense. This is from a recent hunt in 35 degree weather.
These two mushrooms came from this garden that was officially closed as it was a weekday. I kind of slunk in and was setting up to look for mushrooms, and then I noticed a big group of gardeners having their tea.
The garden:

This was the first one.

It should be a Coltricia, but I am not sure of ths species. Maybe cinnamomea.
This was a small bugger, and I was not sure that my camera could focus on it.

See the decurrent gills.

This should be gerronema fibula or postii. If I don't have it down to species or have a spore print, it is because the cap was only 2 or 3 mm diameter.
The rest I post because it was too hot to find any other mushrooms. Now, a lotus pond, is a kick-arse concept.
This is the pond.

And here are the maturing lotii.

And here is a turtle.

If you shroomers can identify THIS to genus and species, give up the dayjob.
If this all makes sense, it is because I have previewed my post about 4 times. See how I feel tomorrow.

Back to Japan!

haha, but anyway, I really like these pictures a lot! Especially the pond just looks beautiful. That first mushroom is also awesome looking too. Nice to see a variety around here ^^.

The turtle looks pretty much like a Trachemys scripta elegans.
Can't tell about the lotii though.

As always, awesome shots!

You always have something cool to look at. What the hell are you doing in Japan? I've always wanted to go there.

strl,
How the heck did you know what my turtle was?!!
And thanks for all the encouragement to all who replied. A monster typhoon is coming our way so we should have some rain, but this can't bode well for the farmers in its path.
