my hero was once Alobar from Jitterbug Perfume, but then Tom Robbins got old or maybe I grew up (highly unlikely). So now it's Ignacius Reilly from Toole's book, but he was banned yesterday.

Tintin! when i was a kid. that dude had some balls..hehe
Now i'd say Einstein. he wasn't afraid to speak his opinion and he did everything he could to make this world a better place. plus he was a fucking genius. and a wise one for that matter.
and Bob is more like a god to me than hero as well.

Wrong. Someone planted a real bullet in among the blanks, and he was shot during filming, not stabbed. During the filming of the scene when he's in the bad dude's boardroom I believe, flipping all over the tables.

I don't know about "heroes." But I have/had an immense amount of respect for: Bill Hicks. Hunter S. Thompson. Hugo Chavez. All humorous and skilled in the art of politics.

Hugo Chavez. lol what are you doing in NJ? Why don't you move to Venezuela or Cuba if the guy is so great. I think they would be happy to have you.

Alfred Russel Wallace and Charles Darwin, the fathers of modern evolutionary theory, would be my top picks for heroes.
