Recommend some Trance artists?

Lately I've enjoyed listening to goa/psychedelic trance. There are a few groups I like but I'm looking to broaden my horizons a little. What else is out there?
Can anyone recommend some good trance artists?

How would you describe the difference between psytrance and goa?

well, first of all in goa,bpm is pretty much higher then psytrance, ofcourse there are some very high bpmed psytrance also but mostly goa is around 148-149 bpm secondly goa has a lot of melodies in it i believe and lotsa crazy sounds. i feel like goa is more 'full' according to psytrance.lets say more complex maybe? and like a good friend said 'it is impossible to walk when you're listening goa'
anyways, it is pretty hard to genre electronic music nowadays.there are a lot of stuff around.
but best way to understand the difference is listening i guess. you'll see the difference

Sorry bro, no offense meant here at all, but Phutureprimitive and Entheogenic are not trance artists at all. Not even close.
Excellent choices of electronic artists, but not one of their songs, either of those two, is trancy at all.
No offense meant at all, just don't want people to get their music, expecting trance.
And ivi, click this link, it might help a little bit.

Cheers.

Goa is another term for psytrance. There is no difference. Being that as it may, I have no clue how you managed to conjur up that BS contrast.
"Goa" refers to Goa, India, where the psytrance scene originated on the beaches and in the forests.

Well I think that the difference in sound is more evolutionary than anything else. "Goa" is the especially esoteric term, but they are the same.

There's something about being Israeli and making good psytrance. Israel is the source of the best psytrance ever made. They just seem to have knack for it.
Aside from that, check out anything from the Blue Room Released, Twisted Records and Dragonfly Records labels. These labels consistently release good goa/psytrance.

Goa/Psytrance its all the same really. There is just different styles of it. Examples...:
"Nizhonot" = The cheesy, pretty simple and happy Goa-trance, the most famous Nizhonot producer is Holy Men
"Minimalistic Trance" = A rather new and progressive style, it's made out of a hard bassline, with only a few but well chosen Psychedelic sounds, very good to dance! Famous artists are Intact Instinct, Son Kite, Die Sonne,...
"Morning Trance" = The melodic dream-trance, it's good to dance during a sunrise and after... And mostly the melodies are really touching! For example: Yahel, MFG, Shidapu, Hyperion,...
"Psychedelic Ambient" = This is the softer Psychedelic Trance, great for chilling or listening at home when you're tired.
"Dark Trance"= A style that sounds Evil/gloomy. An artist for example is Dark Soho.

So far (out of what I've listened to) I've really liked Infected Mushroom and Astral Projection, but I'm still working on listening to the rest. Thanks for all the recommendations everyone!

I've always considered Entheogenic, Phutureprimitive, Shpongle, etc to be ambient Goa.
And, by the way, Entheogenics newest album is fantastic!

I agree. I believe the "Goa" term used here is "israeli" full on psy. From the astral projection hay days, etc. I agree they are one of the same being an avid collector since the 96 and having a pretty broad range of knowledge on the artists from 93-99.
Goa is just a place in India that nobody gives a hoot about anymore. It was where the dance-trance experience was exploited over the top with those 3 day/night beach parties and stuff *grin*.
Anyways old thread, figured I'd bump it up and get some more talking going on goa/psy (I always forward slash the two together so people know it's related and of the same )
