I'm thinking about getting Quicktime Pro if it can do what I need it to do. I'm looking to take an existing MPG file, and edit the audio to make an entire new movie. If it could add 5.1 channels of audio that could be burnt on a DVD, I'd love it. I have two problems though:
1. I don't know if it can do that.
2. The file I have is MPG-2, which even the pro version can't edit without a $20 add on.
I do have a DVD of the original MPG-2, so I could theorectally burn a new file type from it, although the MPG-2 is the best quality out of the options I have.
If Quicktime Pro can't export a movie to be burnt as a DVD with surround sound, it's of no use to me, so I'd just get the add-on and edit it in Pro Tools. I wanted to get advice here because it would suck to spend $50 on nothing.
-------------------- The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.
