Weird black rot on my caps?
    #4553529 - 08/18/05 09:15 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

Within one day my shrooms grew about 200%. In that time two of them began this weird black rot on the caps. They are the only two caps with perlite on them though and I was wondering if that anything to do with the rot or whether they are no good.

Well they are not just black but they are rotting also so I don't think that it is spores, but if it's a bacterial infection would they still be safe to eat?

button mushrooms from the stores also have bacterial blotch, allow them to dry and
they're 100% safe to eat, I've not had a problem eating them fresh with the blotch
but they are unsightly
