Will a coolmist be good enough to keep the RH up in my 5FT DIY greenhouse? If not, what else should I incorperate in my greenhouse to keep the RH up for the casings?

it probley wont keep it any higher than 80%, in my case anyways. i had to hook up a ultrasonic. you should just hook it up and check before you spend more money on anything else.

Probably not, a cool mist will help with getting humidity up, but won't do it on it's own. It is very good for FAE, but not the greatest in getting humidity up. I would invest in an ultrasonic for that.
use the ultrasonic for humidity and the coolmist for FAE. GL TO YA!

Test it before you buy an ultrasonic. Some people need one, some don't. It depends on your setup.

Coolmist alone keeps the RH between 86-90 in my Martha closet

either way...the ultrasonic is well worth the investment. I keep my coolmist running all the time for FAE and just turn on the ultrasonic from time to time. I don't think him buying one would be a bad "investment". Setups can change and he will wind up buying one down the road anyway if he goes to a bigger setup.
They are very cheap anyway. an ultrasonic will get the humidity up 10 fold faster than a coolmist. IME coolmist don't get the humidity up all that high, and it takes a lot longer.

i recently hooked up a coolmist and it has been great so far with fae but it doesn't help with the humidity all that much. i have had to increase misting since hooking it up. thats all good though, atleast i know there is plenty of fresh air being provided and that seems to be a key ingredient for great pinsets leading to full flushes. peace

Hook it up and check it out. I have two greenhouses going right now, a 3 tier and 4 tier, and both are being taken care of with just coolmists. It stays between 88% - 92% humidity.
I have ultrasonics, but have never had to use them,
Good Luck.

Hey Hippy! I like your setup. I'm currently in the middle of building my own greenhouse with PVC but I forgot a damn 1/2in male adapter for one of the legs so now it's back to LOWES again.
But anyways, I've noticed you have a pipe hooked to the white round water tank of the coolmist. Is it better to do that or connect it straight to the vent hole where the mist comes out? I also noticed from one of your pictures in a forum that you have the pipe hooked into the top of your PVC which then feeds mist into the greenhouse in three different spots. Wouldn't it be better to feed the mist from the bottom and have it work it's way up to the top since the mist rises to the top?
-Thanks
