I got nuttin'

I started the qt. jar method about 1 week ago.I put the jars in my closet for 4 days with nothing showing,so I put them in a warmer room where they have been for 3 days.I still have nothing.How long should I wait before I discontinue and start over?Is it possilbe to put "' to much" of the spore solution into the jars?Should I keep the rice moist with distilled water?

well, the first time i grew (same method) i was pretty anxious like you. i suggest that if you did them right you just wait. don't go checking them every 2 hours. i would wait another week or so. check in 3-4 days for white fluff around the innoccuation points. and adding more spore water only speeds up the process, but don't add any more because if you screwed up somewhere then you wouldn't want to waste any. i know it may be all exciting and such, but just leave them alone, the more you check them the more light they are exposed to .which is what they don't need when they are colonizing.

yes an i am going to keep talking. you have to make sure that you innoculated at the edge of the jar. make sure you can see it run down the side. and perhaps the spore solution was absorbed by the vermiculite (if you had some on top.) But if you did multiple jars i doubt that it was absorbed in every jar. also it depends on what type of mushrooms you are growing. som colonize much faster (significantly) than others.

ok sorry if this was a very discheveled\discombobulated post but i am having trouble focusing my thoughts right now. why...i don't know...

Some just take a shit load to start.. some you can see growth within a couple days, and others can take up to 20 days to germinate
