Ive seen every episode of futurama at least 5 times, but i noticed what could be an intentional metaphor, or nothing at all. For robots electricity, or "jacking on" creates a hallucinogenic trip like experience. Benders first trip is awsome, but too short :P anyway my theory is that bender is a normal robot following his programming and nothing else, untill he gets struck by a light bulb. It doesnt seem to make him trip that first time, but it opens his mind to break away from the programming. Most shows i would just toss this theory out, but alot of futurama has undertones of math and science. so uh.... discuss!

my favorite is when there at the horse track and the race they where betting on came to a photo finish. The announcer says one horse won by a quantum singularity and the professor yells "you changed the outcome by observing it!" a hilarious joke if your into quantum physics

You might be right but observe/measure means the same thing in this case....I just might have gotten the quote wrong

WHAT??? No one quoted "Bender's seceret ingredient seems to be nothing more than plain tap water... and a large dose of LSD." This is to be taken from the trippy space episode when Bender tries to become a cook and meets an old hermit cook who gives Bender the vial of "Pure Flavor." I wonder what the writers were tring to pass onto us.

The professor analyzes it, he says: "Why, this contains nothing but ordinary water."
so the guys say: "Well, bender, the reason why you cook so well, is probably because that vial gave you some confidince."
the professor looks down the page and says: "yes, ordinary water, spiked with a large spoonfull of LSD."
Then bender says: "Hey, who wants some breakfast... with confidance (holding up the vial)."
Everyone says: "Oh, yes, yes, etc." The cream song "sunshine of your love" starts playing.

haha ya one of the writers ( i forget the name) had a degree in math and applies it in the show, but what do you all think of my theory? Also if you buy the dvds it points out most of the hidden stuff.

What about the episode where fry finds the VW bus and they tour across the country with bender and beck's group. There some gems in that one.
Like when zoidberg washes his shell with everyone's cloths and it all turns tie dyed. Everyone gets pissed at first, then they think it's "kinda cool".
Zoidberg said, after hearing the plan to tour: "I'm too poor to follow a band around in a van ." (ain't that the truth though)
When they first find the van, the professor says: "Hey, where is the device that speeds up and slows down time."
Fry pulls out a bong from under the seat: "here it is."
"can't journey to the center of your mind without love beads."
Hermes is a rasta, there was an episode where his son takes one of his cigars, at a party he said "hey I stole one of dad's cigars."
he says: "Hey, that's not a cigar! ...and that's not mine!"
The simpsons and futurama are so full of drug references, it's crazy.
