Quick way to test spore vitality

Hey all, it's been quite a while...
Just a quick question really, it's surely been answered other times but I searched for the last half hour and really couldn't find anything...
I have a few spore syringes dating a few years back, they surely haven't been kept in the proper conditions, but I was still wondering if there was a quick and dirty way to just see if one of the syringes may perhaps still be "active".
maybe something that doesn't involve pressure cooking, I don't want to start a culture just need to know if the spores are still alive.

well a quick dirty lc, mix it up microwave it for a bit and then shoot some spores in there. give it some time to see if they grow.
you really should go about it in a good sterile way, cause i would imagine them to still be viable, at least some of them anyway. why waste em?

please forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean with "lc" ? I don't understand what I need to mix up and microwave...
and since most of the syringes are quite still full, I intend to shoot just a small part of the solution, because they are 2-3 years old and have been kept in a box on a shelf, so I wouldn't be too sure...

I hope that helps. I had a syringe for about a year kept in an attic and was still able to use it....took a long time to colonize though.
