I dont think it is due to humidity since it is not in a humidity chamber, only humidity is from the casing, though it was sitting in a pool of water.

looks like fluffy mycel with spores on to me. I get the same:

More humidity where the casing is at is probably the cause

sitting in a pool of water, that will do it i would think.

the damn thing spored (spewed) all over itself too, needs more than a razor.

Well my guess is if it aint pubic hairs then its likely u had some hairy myc growin on the stem of the shroom as as the spores droped it has collected in this and made it a lot more noticeable...

Yes, it is definitely spores dropping on it, the whole casing was purple. I think it needs waxing for such a delicate area :wink:

ooouuuuccccchhhhhh, don't pull it off so slow. just rip it off and get it over with.

no worries with it, i would be a little concerned about the pooling water on the surface of the casing layer. use a paper towel or something to soak it up, this could lead to myc rot if it stays there too long.
