So.. What have we discovered?

Alright guys and gals, we've all done our drugs. Personally, I've tried alcohol, cigaretts, pot, acid, mushrooms, x, dxm, and various pain/mental health pills.
And I'm sure we agree that this is all very expirence inducing, mind expanding stuff.
My question is, however, what, if any, conclusions or theories have come out of it all, with respect to life and universe. Personally, I have a few ideas, but I'd definately like to hear other opinions on the matter. I'm going to post my theories a little later. I just thought I'd go ahead and get the ball rolling. Take care.

That there are more important things in life than spreading your seed, getting a good education, a good life, the american dream, and what not. That nothing matters, you could be the richest man in the world, with a beautiful wife, and all the political influence, but if you have no inner peace, its all for nothing.
That all things you do, no matter how insignificant, have a higher purpose that you dont realize.
You could hit rock bottom, but if thats your destiny, you can be happy with it.
Ive gotten the feeling that the whole planet earth is under observation by a alien life form, and its just waiting for us to screw up so they can take over.
Ive gotten many more feelings, when I remember them, Ill post.

great topic, lemme think I should have a lot of shit to post (sorry if it seems weird at all, I'm just gonna type my thoughts as they come)...
I find everything in life so questionable and odd now, after tripping. Things just feel so odd, like driving in a car is just a weird thing, to be transported by a bunch of moving man-made parts to get you somewhere you want to go. Food has also become kind of an odd prospect, eating 3 times a day every day of your life in order to live ... just seems very weird now. I believe that SOME kind of god must exist (not like an actual god but nature as god), when I look at patterns and colors on animals and plants I can't help but think that something "painted" these animals and plants ... trees feel much more alive, and conscious ... sometimes simple things that I have never thought about before become something I think a lot about ... if I think of anything else I'll post, but this is like the main shit that I now experience

I personally have learned that perception differs so greatly from person to person that without veiwing things abstractly, in a sense of understanding beyond what you can reach from normal daily life, you would almost walk through life with blinders on...And for theories, there seems to be either more out there than we know of, or our minds are capable of unbelievable things that we know not how to use..

Good points, everybody. Personally, I feel that average people tend to trust their senses far too much. After tripping I've found so much of what we see (or think we see), and so much of what we hear (or think we hear), is all in our head. Sure, we get quite a bit of valid information from our senses, but as soon as any judgement must be passed, such as determining someone's tone of voice or facial expression.. our own past expirences and attitudes kick in and what seems obvious to us could be totally wrong. When we trip, it sometimes seems really easy to tell how someone else is feeling... or sometimes it can be really hard.... does this make any sense? or is it sense-less... heh..

I've always thought this way, and psychedelics have only reinforced it:

I've learned that I am no longer in control. The psilocybe consciousness has me. My human self is dying at an ever increasing rate. Soon I will no longer be aware of my existence, the mycelial network will have taken full control. I will be their pawn; my only desire will be to spread the spores, and infect more humans.

2 major one's so far
1) How can anyone care what kind of car you drive/clothes you wear/ what you look like when all that really matters is getting somewhere warm with food (I was cold and hungry).
2) How can anyone be blamed for any of their actions if they are only reacting the best way they know how from past experiences?

Anytime I trip and see things it always says the same thing to me...
There is more to life than what we can see. And more than we ever could start to understand...
It always leaves me thinking about all the possibilities of the universe. I think about everything from alternate worlds to black holes to time travel. I makes me really think about the true wonders of the world. It gives me so much more appreciation for things as they are as well. But I live for the unknown

Woah D.Tox you sound like you are ready for those hyperlight starships Terence Mckenna talks about...I'll be on one soon myself :)
But I agree with the pervading philosophy. I have spent my life trying to amass as much knowledge and information as I can about the world, and morality, and friendships. But when I take shrooms, it's like all that stuff that seems so real is now an abstraction
And another major thing I have learned is how absolutely frail language is...it cannot express in terms the experience of mushrooms...or ecstasy, or dmt...or even weed. So I believe there's some sort of possibility for spirtual communication...without words...although I believe I have been unduly influenced by Mr. Mckenna..but it's all good. I'm happy at where I am in my exploration of the cosmos.
you are now .02 cents richer :)

I totally agree with GringoLoco, also Newt and MmmMushrooms. I think people who are not enlightened in any way (the use of drugs, found god), loose site of what's really important in life. Before anything else matters, you have to love yourself. Since I was a little boy, I never worried about my future, because I know I would always do the best I knew how for myself. I know that If I ended up as a bum on the streets, I would be happy inside and nice to others, and that's all that would matter. The only thing that makes humans truly happy is having the basics: food, water, love. Shelter is an added bonus. Love can be of any kind. We are all lucky to have friends. If you guys haven't seen Fight Club, I really recommend you do. Materials don't make up who we are. Social status has no importance.
This is definitely more to this world then material possessions. Like a book, you have to read between the lines. If there's only one thing I learned for LSD, life is constantly giving you signs. You just have to interpret them correctly. They let you know if your on the right track, or if your off.
Ok, I could go on like this forEVER, so I'm going.

> If you guys haven't seen Fight Club, I really recommend you do. Materials don't make up who we are. Social status has no importance.
Fight Club is about redefining masculinity from the modern, materialist consumer, who makes his own money to a man who is reducible to his body (sheer physicality) and his raw ability to endure pain.
So yeah, sure it says that materialism isn't important, but it says that enjoying pain is important. I doubt that's the message you're recommending.
As for social status, those who can endure the most pain (Brad Pitt, Ed Norton) are the "real" men, and at the top of the chain, whereas the others are below (eg// the young looking kid who Norton beats up and says he wanted to destroy something beautiful).

ive learned a lot on my adventures
with shrooms and other substances.
Like some people here i learned to respect and onyl really desire the basics to life.
I also for some reason enjoy my surroundings more.
I appreciate eveywhere i am and all that is around me.
I mean i can be in an industrial park and look around and be happy. I seem to pay more attention to trees and houses and people. And i seem to appreciate them more.
Before its as if i wasnt really looking at them.
Actually beforei started doing drugs i was a Nihilisit with no goal. After the my experiances with shrooms
i have found enjoyment in life and living it, enjoying everything
including pain.
MY recent dxm experiance really reinforced this when my mind was wiped clean and i muttred ot myself about Just standing there fishing looking around at the river and the plant life.
Mah well thats just me

What the movie Fight Club is about is irrelavent if it shows you something interesting... I wouldn't agree with it all in a literal definition, but I thought it was a very enlightening piece of art. If you talk to musicians or sculptors, they usually don't care if you take from the piece exactly what they built it as.
I don't think that enjoying pain is something all that important, but what I got from the movie was a lot more than that.
Just because Ozzy sings "Wine is fine but Whiskey's quicker, suicide is slow with liquor." doesn't mean all his fans are killing themselves.
It does get annoying when someone tells you that "The Wizard of Oz" (not "Blizzard of Oz") is actually a bible instructing us to band together and expose the president as a fraud. It's still their own thoughts and interpretations though.

I've learned that we're just a bunch of multi-pronged, weird ass things, perhaps a little too smart for our own good. It dones't matter what we do. The universe is infite, and there are infite universes inside the smalls known peice of matter. There are infinte universes inside every peice of matter. It doesn't matter what we do, so why not just be cool, make existance fun, and enjoyable for everyone. Draw, paint, make music, make Love, make people happy. It doesn't matter either way, so why not have fun?

I wasnt even talking about Fight club.
its a good movie
but ive based nothing on it.
I actualy enjoy pain
not to its limits or anything
im not self destructive
But when i have a sore neck i love just pushing it until i get that nerev cord pain
Also i love jumping into freezing Water and staying there until hypothermia sets in
EVEr swim in a ice water run off river in Norway for 10 min.
water about 6 d. After i got out i couldnt button a shirt my muscles wouldnt work
Also for the next three days i couldnt eat without getting nasueous and i felt this coldness in my body that onyl warmed up in denmark on the beech.
And it was amazing
i look back fondly on pain and when im experiancing it
