Breaking free from Sex

Oh yes folks. We are all conscious and aware beings that make our own choices.
Choices? Overheard many times, "I like sex!" This is not some decision that the proclaimer made. It is pure Pavlovian, dog salivation response, when an attractive nude form is presented to one.
The new Dukes of Hazzard movie is selling many tickets, yet appears to be pure trash? Why is that? Why did the series do well? Short cutoffs on a sexy female. "These Boots were made for Walking?" or was Jessica's butt made for pounding? It is a video folks. One cannot procreate with the TV, yet our reptilian brain cannot tell the difference! How can we move forward when we can not overcome such a simplistic signal-response reaction?
Why does Penthouse and Playboy outsell National Geographic and Scientific American? Because we so choose it? NO! Because we are stuck in our lower animal self and can't break free from our primal programming.
NO MORE! As of today I am free from this mind destroying scourge.
Just say no to sex. Who will join me?

Your mad because your physiology effects your decisions? Thats the thing I like most about being alive. I consider giving myself a lobotomy to get more of it. And if anything was going to get me to see dukes it would be the super troopers not jessica.

Hey, what are you saying? I don't have a problem!
I can quit anytime I want. I just don't want to right now.
Maybe later. Maybe next year. When I'm older.
OK, maybe not.

Classic reaction from an addict.
If we could channel all our energy wasted on sex, we could have built a city on Mars and created faster-than-light drive, but noo-ooooo. We would rather rub bodies - or even worse, spend trillions of hours dreaming of rubbing body parts.

I can quit anytime I want.
I quit all the time. It takes about 30 minutes.
Edit: 45, according to my S.O.

If you are serious about this, I hear ya. People always think that they chose to have sex. There is no choice here. What mind (that is not influenced by the body) would chose such an activity? Sexual freedom is actually a slavery to the body, so is hedonism in eating etc. whenever body sends a signal mind obeys it.

UH, but I don't care about having a city on Mars. I guess you're going to evolve right past me, Swami, dear.

Seriously Swami, is sex really equivalent to rubbing bodies for you? I mean, one can view sex on the most banal, stupid sensual instinctual level as 'everyone likes a good f**k with a hot piece of ass,' or one can slide the attitude cursor to the exalted intellectual tantric lovemaker here who goes on about the 'cosmic union of Shiva and Shakti, or one can take a middle approach which acknowledges the instinctual, the intellectual and the spiritual - you know, like 'I actually love my wife, and the pleasure and excitement of sexual intercourse allows my heart to open, and allows me to vocally express that love' (which is so difficult for so many men). The sex becomes a very potent interpersonal 'glue' (no pun intended) which ''bonds' two beings together into a whole that is spiritually greater than the two separate beings (it's tough to describe the reality of 'a couple' (again, no pun intended).
I've denied my sexuality when I've been denied sexuality. At that point it is just surfing with the wave of unobtainability. I've also denied it to overcome its irrational power, but sex is not 'it,' sex is part of me and I became much healthier when I accepted that part of myself and worked with it. Eros and Aphrodite are not the whole pantheon (pan-theon) and I no longer want to alienate them (they come back at ya with a vengeance!)

Sexuality is quite different than the act of sex. Take away the identity of sexuality, the social construct of sexual acts changes. I agree with you, sex is not "it" and it definately does not define someone.

technically sex IS rubbing of bodies, even if individuals percieve it as bonding, it is still technically same as when you have piece of ass. The biological call is the same, in both cases you can resist it for the sake of freedom

its all about the money, the fact that jessica has such shortshorts, which are nice, is not what really matters, its pillaging a communities heritage for money

What did i miss? What does a movie, or a magazine have to do with sex? It seems to me your talking about thinking about sex or masturbating more than you are talking about making love to someone you love. I agree, the world is very dirty and getting WAYYYYYYYY to explicit, espcially Television and media and what it exposes young minds too. but sex between adults is the most natural thing, so i must disagree

Of course sex is natural, but human being was built on ability to repress its own nature. Humans would never build cities, go to space if they followed their natural instincts every time they feel something.

"Will you join me?" NOOOOOO I have gone without sex since I broke up with my girlfriend a few weeks ago. And I broke up with her because she was not as into sex as I am. And I haven't been getting ANY the last few weeks. I cannot concentrate, I masturbate a million times a day. I just finished a hard science class and for the last few days I couldn't study properly, hard as I tried, and no matter how much I played with myself. I don't know if I'm a maniac with it or not but I NEEEED sex just to function at a satisfactory level!
