What age do you get your license at in your state?

I recently moved to a new state, and had to take a written test to get my license here. It was on a computer, and I just pressed buttons on the screen.
I don't know about trick questions, but there was one part with tricky answers. You see, they were giving me a bunch of true/false questions, and the answer buttons for me to press were given in the order of 1) True and 2) False. They gave me a bunch like that, and then all of a sudden, they started giving them to me in the order of 1) False and 2) True. I didn't really read the answer, and pressed "false" button when I meant to answer with "true". They only got me once like that, though.
My point: Make sure you read all the answers carefully before you choose one.

I bet Jesse White was sitting in an air-conditioned office, viewing you on a surveillance camera and laughing at your expense.

It's some common sense, there are some questions (on the NJ drivers test anyway) that if you don't read a booklet on the test before the test, you aren't gonna get. Stupid shit. How many feet before a turn do you signal, how far from a stop sign should you park, how far from a curb...

That's what I thought about the IL test, but it was ALL common sense. No specifics like that. I didn't read a booklet or anything, and I only got one wrong (the stupid false answer one).
However, I remember PA's test being a little more in depth. But that was years ago.
That may explain why people in IL are some of the most vacuous drivers I've ever seen.

I failed "attention" on the road test.

If I had to take another road test these days, I would definitely fail the parallel parking deal.
How do they quantify "attention"?

It's true. I thought driving in Chicago was going to be a shitty experience until I realized the people in my city drive the exact same way
"What's that? The right-lane ends? I'm in the left lane but I'd better get in the right lane so I can have that 2 car-length advantage"
I don't give those mother-fuckers an inch.

My major complaint is turn signal abuse. They are completely arbitrary out here. A turn signal means that they might be turning in either direction, or going straight. No turn signal means the same thing.

The guy said I didn't check my mirrors enough.
I thought he was going to put a burning hot coffee in front of him and tell me if it spilled on him that I'd fail.
