waiting a long time
    #4546256 - 08/17/05 12:07 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

i put 11 1/2 jars into the incubator and had problems with the temp but after like 2 weeks 3 of them started colonizing. I thought they needed light to grow so i put a nightlight next to them. then i read you should only put light on the jars when your ready to get some pins. was putting light on them while they were colonizing going to slow it up cause that shits taken a looonnng time.

It could be slow for a number of reasons. If these are PF jars and you packed them in real tight, then they will grow slow. If the temp is too low, they will grow slow. If the moisture content of the jars is off, they will grow slow and maybe even stop growing after a certain point. The light shouldn't have hurt the jars. Be patient.

What were the problems with the temp you first talked about? If the temps got too high, then you may have killed the spores :frown: Also, did you shake the spore syringe good during inoculation? This helps disperse the spores in the syringe.
