Rings around my myc
    #4546255 - 08/17/05 12:07 PM (12 years, 7 days ago)

Good Morning All,

I have one 1/2 pint jar that has myc at all the inoculation points that has a yellowish ring around the outside of the myc. It seems that as the myc grows and joins with other colonization points the rings stay to the outside.

Is this bad? Should I put this jar in my outside bed? Or should I just wait til the jar is fully colonized, to what I have got. Sorry no pics, my camers was pitched into the lake by an unruly northen pike, but that's another story.

Thanks a ton,

I would say its a say contam, because its right where you inocc'd the jars, IME.

Jars to small/new to have that much bi-product this early on. I would keep an eye on it and isolate.

Oh, and damn them pike.

Thanks, I figured as much. The little jar was the last of my Z strain. I'll probably be adding it to my outside bed........and the Pike.....he was delicious.
