Agaricus Micromegathus find
    #4540239 - 08/15/05 09:40 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

These are unmistakeable when you pick them because they bruise orange and stain your fingers orange with the slightest touch.
They are very fragile so you have to be real carefull gathering these, They have a great taste also...damn nice find

lepiota species is home to some nasty-ass mushrooms. please take DH and ToxicMan's advice on this! they are trusted experts, with ALOT more knowledge than any texas ID book. Please give it a second thought before cooking those up. If I were you I wouldn't touch any non-wood growing white spored mushrooms.

They look like lepiotas to me as well and many bruise red/orange. All agaricus have dark spores.

Yes it does.
Agaricus micromegathus
spore print dark-brown.
No agaricus has white spores.
But hey, here's the last line, so don't feel too bad.
Except for gill color, it could easily be confused for species of Lepiota
