Too much water?
    #454361 - 11/10/01 07:41 PM (23 years, 4 months ago)

I put too much water in the pot while boiling jars. They got saturated through the puncture holes. What do you think will happen? Will they get contaminated because the verm. layer might not work? Will they not colonize because of too much water? Or will they do OK? Don't bother responding with only "Buy a PC." I have used a boiling pot for 1 year now with no contam problems.

if you didnt this time next time put tinfoil over the top of each jar. dont know for sure what you can do but i would try throwing away the top layer of verm. replace it wit dry, and re cook for a wile to get some of the moisture out.

when you have done that you should keep the jars warm and loosen the lids a little so the h2o can evaporate.
thats just what i would do if i grew mushrooms! someone might reply and tell me im wrong....o well half the fun is being a mad scientist and trying new experiments

some of the greatist discoverys were made by mistake!!
